Dig into homelessness data using new dashboard
AUSTIN (Oct. 21, 2021) — A new dashboard provides direct access for the first time to regularly-updated in-depth homelessness data covering housing programs, the unhoused population, and the overall flow of people into and out of homelessness in our community.
The dashboard, built by ECHO’s Research and Evaluation Team, tracks back to January 2019 and breaks down data by race, ethnicity, housing program type, organization, age, household type, veteran status, and several other variables. This range of options allows users to dig into homelessness data for themselves.
“The main goals of this dashboard are really to track progress, to look at system performance as a whole, and to identify areas for system improvement,” says Akram Al-Turk, ECHO’s Research and Evaluation Director. Especially as our community sees unprecedented new investments in housing and services, “we want to be tracking those outcomes.”
The dashboard is available on ECHO’s website.
Research and Evaluation Analysts Claire Burrus and Mason Turpin join Al-Turk in the video below to provide an overview of the dashboard they built and how to get the most out of the homelessness data available. You can also watch the video on our YouTube channel.
