EHV Program Overview
The Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) program is available through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
Currently, our community will be able to serve 276 households through the EHV Program. We need dedicated community partners to support this work. We will keep this page updated as further information about the EHV Program becomes available.
The Austin / Travis County region has two local Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) who received funding through the EHV program:

Deployment Goal:
EHVs can be deployed by Public Housing Authorities as soon as July 1st, 2021.To respond to the COVID-19 Crisis and efficiently utilize these vouchers, the community hopes to allocate and deploy all vouchers between July 1st, 2021, and October 30th, 2021.

Austin / Travis County 5-Year Housing Goals
In April of 2021, a diverse group of stakeholders and advocates driven to end unsheltered homelessness in Austin / Travis County convened a 7-day conference to address unsheltered homelessness in our community. Through the utilization of historical and current homelessness response system performance data, analysis of current community needs, and cost modeling diagrams, the Summit Team developed the ambitious goal of housing 3,000 more people than the current community average by December 31, 2024. To accomplish this goal, resources entering the Homelessness Response System will need be strategically aligned.
